International conference on Road sector on Sep 25
New Delhi, Sep 22: Amid the increased budget allocation for roads, an International conference to deliberate over the all pertinent issues concerning the road sector including policy restructuring, network planning, construction & maintenance, funding, latest equipments and machinery, and latest technology innovations.
The conference 'India Roads 2009: Better Roads Better India – Outlook, Opportunities & Way Ahead" scheduled to happen on Sep 25, 2009 at the Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi will also address issues like road safety, rural road development, BOT/annuity projects, bidding process & model documents, updates on NHDP / NHAI / PPPs.
Mr Mahadev Singh Khandela, Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways is the chief guest while the keynote shall be delivered by Mr Brahm Dutt, Secretary, Department of Road Transport & Highways and Mr Brijeswar Singh, Chairman, NHAI.
The event is being organised by Foundation of Infrastructure Research Studies Training in association with AM Events, a division of ASAPP Media – publishers of Infrastructure Today.
It invites road operators, policy makers at all state transport & development boards, infrastructure development & consulting organizations, construction companies, risk & safety managers, tunnel & bridge authorities, industry professionals, material providers.
In the recent times, India has invested interest and funds to the roads sector which is being perceived as the building blocks of infrastructure. Kamal Nath, Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways has also pointed out that India would spend around 70 billion dollars in the road sector in the next three years.
