Man City's Hughes lets sparks fly after extra time loss to Man U

By Super Admin

London, Sep.21 (ANI): A furious Manchester City boss Mark Hughes blasted referee Martin Atkinson and other officials for allowing seven extra minutes in a game that allowed Manchester United to snatch an amazing stoppage-time derby win with Michael Owen's help.

"The fourth official tried to give me an explanation because I was questioning the amount of time that was being added on - even before the game had finished. But his explanation didn't sit comfortably with me. He tried to say he had added a minute plus because of our celebration," The Sun quoted Sparky, as saying.

"We actually scored right on 90 minutes and the board was already up for four minutes. We timed it from when we scored to their kick-off and it was 45 seconds, so they got that wrong. They actually scored after 95 minutes and 26 seconds so he has obviously played too much time and he actually went on to play 97 minutes. I just want an explanation, though I doubt I will get one.

I'm not going to question his integrity I just want to know why he added seven minutes," he added.

"If he can give me a good reason I wouldn't have a problem but I just can't see where he got that time," Hughes said. (ANI)
