MI5 trying to stop young Brit Muslims from being sent to Somalia's jihadist camps

London, Sep 20 (ANI): British intelligence agency MI5 is trying to dismantle terror cells operating in UK, which brainwash young Muslims and send them to al Qaeda training camps in Somalia.

According to the News of the World, a major operation by MI5 is trying to break up cells sending them to the lawless East African state.

Earlier, the young British Muslims were sent to Afghanistan and Pakistan for their jihadist training. But now many terror camps have been shifted to Somalia, where they have been able to flourish far from prying eyes, the report says.

"More and more young men are leaving here and travelling to Somalia to join the jihad. I am hearing it from their parents all the time. This is becoming a big problem," the paper quoted moderate religious leader Sheikh Ahmed Aabi, as saying.

Britain has accepted tens of thousands of Somali asylum seekers over the past 10 years.

The younger British Somalis are becoming increasingly excluded from society and are easy targets for hate-filled preachers, the MI5 says.

So far, at least 100 Brits are believed to have been trained there as hard bitten would-be suicide bombers.

According to experts, Somalia Somalia is fast becoming a main base for al Qaeda. And recently, a military operation by US Special Forces and CIA killed key Islamic militant Saleh Ali Saleh Nabhan there. (ANI)
