London, September 20 (ANI): Chicago mobster Al Capone's former hideout in northern Wisconsin, US, is set to be auctioned.
"The Hideout, Al Capone's Northwoods Retreat", spanning 407-acre, will see the opening at 2.6 million dollars when it goes under the hammer on the steps of the Sawyer County Courthouse in Hayward on October 8.
Capone, nicknamed "Scarface", led a crime syndicate dedicated to smuggling and bootlegging of liquor and other illegal activities during the Prohibition Era of the 1920s and 1930s, when consumption was alcohol was banned in the country.
The buyer will get the hideout along with a bar and restaurant complete with portholes to shoot from, said Joe Kinnear of Chippewa Valley Bank, which is selling the property.
"He spent a lot of time there," The Telegraph quoted Kinnear as saying.
"Whether it was for getting whiskey out of Canada or whoever knows. It is an incredible property," Kinnear added. (ANI)
