Mumbai, Sep 20: It is reported that a 105-year-old woman, a resident of suburban Andheri applied for online voter identity card.

An election official said that Saraswati Jadhav was the oldest person to apply for the card online and she would soon receive it.

"Her age was misquoted in the earlier card, so I applied online for correction and it was a very easy process," said Vinayak, her grandson.

"I took her picture and uploaded on the site and filled up other information."

Vinayak said that Saraswati always votes in all elections and travels in an autorickshaw to the polling centre.

The official said that applying online saved her family and her the botheration of waiting in the ques for the card.

The application lifted the spirits of the Maharshtra election officials, who were disappointed due to the low voter turnout in the Lok Sabha polls.

"Jadhav's case should inspire others to go online and get voter cards," he said.
