AI lacks seats, leaves behind 25 passengers
Kolkata, Sep 19: An AirIndia flight lacking seats, left for its destination Port Blair without 25 passengers though all of them had tickets.
The airliner usually uses a 145-seater aircraft but today the plane was smaller with 120 seats, Air India officials said.
It was reported that Air-India's Kolkata-Port Blair flight left at 5.35 am without taking the passengers from NSC Bose international airport in Kolkata.
The passengers began protesting in the airport.
Air-India officials said it was decided that few of the left-out passengers would be sent by a JetLite flight to Port Blair while the rest would be provided hotel accommodation and taken on Sunday, Sep 20.
