Land deals: Didi seeks CBI probe against Lalu
New Delhi, Sep 17: Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee has sought a CBI inquiry into allegations by JD-U MPs that people sold their land to Lalu Prasad's relatives during his term.
"The allegations are being probed by the Railway vigilance department also. And now it has been referred to the CBI," a railway official said.
According to sale deeds, lands worth crores of rupees have been sold to Prasad's close relatives in exchange for railway jobs and contracts.
Banerjee said no force will be used to acquire land for railway projects anywhere in the country.
