England all-rounder Wright injured by bowling machine

By Super Admin

London, Sep. 15 (ANI): England all-rounder Luke Wright was left bloodied by a bowling machine on Monday.

An attempt to replicate Brett Lee's 90mph yorkers in the nets at the National Cricket Performance Centre at Loughborough backfired when Wright was left needing stitches after being hit on the end of his left toe.

Wright will be assessed ahead of the match at Trent Bridge on Thursday, but a team spokesman confirmed that Dimi Mascarenhas had been called up.

England are on a damage limitation exercise having already conceded the seven-match series 4-0.

ENGLAND (probable): Strauss, Denly, Bopara, Prior, Shah, Morgan, Mascarenhas, Broad, Swann, Bresnan, Sidebottom.

AUSTRALIA (probable): Watson, Paine, Ponting, Clarke, Ferguson, White, Hussey, Hauritz, Johnson, Lee and Bracken. (ANI)
