Iraq, Sep 14: Delay in paper work postponed the release of Muntazer al-Zaidi, the television reporter, who was jailed for throwing shoes at the former US President George W Bush.
Durgham al-Zaidi, his brother said that Muntazer would be released on Tuesday, Sep 15.
"He called me from the prison and said 'they won't release me today, they will free me tomorrow'," said a tearful Durgham al-Zaidi.
The journalist's entire family along with his supporters were waiting for him in central Baghdad.
"I went inside and they informed me that the letter of the judge arrived and he will be freed today," said Uday, one of Zaidi's brothers.
Zaidi, 30, sentenced to three years was to be freed early due to his good behaviour.
