Miandad wants players to give their 200 percent on the cricket field

By Super Admin

Karachi, Sep.13 (ANI): Pakistan batting advisor Javed Miandad wants cricketers to work hard and give their 200 percent on the field.

Miandad, who was made the batting advisor of the national squad after the disastrous Sri Lanka tour, said he wants players to finish the current five-day training camp on a high and use most of it to regain form and fitness, besides learning minute details of the game.

"I have a simple logic. Only by toiling hard in the sun can you be ready for the rigours of international cricket. You need 200 per cent commitment from the players," Miandad said.

Miandad also backed his own logic of preparing bouncy wickets for preparing batsmen to handle South African conditions better during the ICC Champions Trophy beginning September 22.

"Once they bat for long hours on those grassy wickets with ample bounce, I'm sure they would be ready for South African conditions," The News quoted Miandad, as saying.

Miandad's idea of having grassy and bouncy wickets for the preparations has also been backed by captain Younis Khan.

Khan said such pitches would certainly help batsmen prepare themselves better for the eight nation tournament.

Khan said he is raring to go for the Champions Trophy and wants his side to win the coveted trophy.

"It is one of my greatest desires to help Pakistan win this title," he said. (ANI)
