Marathon talks inconclusive, Jet strike still on
New Delhi, Sep 12: The Jet Airways' stir continues for the fifth day as marathon talks between the pilots and management did not yield any solution. The airlines cancelled 281 flights including 21 international flights on Saturday, Sep 12.
We have cancelled 281 flights for the day. Of these, 260 are domestic and 21 international," a Jet spokesperson was quoted as saying.
The pilots' union, National Aviators' Guild (NAG) which is spearheading this campaign and the Jet Airways' management will be holding a fresh round of talks on Saturday, Sep 12.
The NAG which is demanding that the sacked pilots be reinstated is 'hopeful' on resolving the issue soon.
On Friday, Sep 11, management representatives and the pilots held 9-hour long face-to-face negotiations before the Chief Labour Commissioner which ended in a deadlock.
