Orrisa: Maoists blow up rly tracks, Govt buildings
Rourkela, Sep 10: Maoists struck Orissa again, blowing up railway tracks and four government buildings in Sundargarh district on Thursday, Sep 10.
The Maoists have called for a 24-hour shut-down in the district on Thursday, Sep 10, to demand release of 30 people, who were arrested on the suspicion that were naxalites.
Police said, the rebels blasted railway tracks at around seven placed between Bimal garh and Patangi.
The ultras also blew up an abandoned police station building at Kalta, another building where a CRPF camp was functioning earlier, a community centre and office building of CITU, police said.
Train services between Rourkela and Barsuan have been completely disrupted due to the blasts.
There was no report about any casualty in the attacks carried out by the ultras. Security personnel have rushed to the sites to launch combing operation in the area, police added.
