Man U's Ferdinand takes family on 400-pound Welsh 'caravan break'

By Super Admin

London, Sep.10 (ANI): Manchester United footballer Rio Ferdinand took his family on a 400-pound caravan break in North Wales, snubbing more expensive but affordable holidays to St Tropez, New York or Barbados.

The England international star took his family to Presthaven Sands, according to Haven Holidays who hosted the family at the site in Prestatyn.

Dismissing more tropical getaways, Ferdinand decided to take his family to the small town in Denbighshire known as the "gateway to North Wales coast" where "mountain air meets salty sea breezes".

The star booked his wife Rebecca Ellison and two sons into the Haven Park for a credit-crunch busting weekend break in late August.

He did, however, choose a top-of-the-range "Prestige" caravan - at 400 pounds for the weekend.

Children mobbed Ferdinand as he played on the park with his sons before enjoying a go-karting session.

"He had a very lovely time, he was mobbed by young lads on the park but was quite affable about it all signing autographs then tried out the go-kart track," a Haven spokeswoman said. (ANI)
