Cabinet silent on legalizing gay sex discussion
New Delhi, Sep 10: The Union Cabinet adjourned a decision on the three-member ministerial group's suggestion, which went into the Delhi High Court judgment decriminalising gay sex.
"The Home Minister was not present so it was not discussed," said I&B Minister Ambika Soni.
The report recommended not to contest the High Court judgment.
Regarding government's action plan for the upcoming Supreme Court hearing, Soni added that "the law ministry will look into it."
The three ministries -- Home, Health and Law agreed to the document circulated by the Law Ministry suggesting that the judgment should not be opposed in the Supreme Court.
