Air India to reshuffle team of directors
New Delhi, Sep 4: Reports say, Air India's team of directors is going to be reshuffled as the some of the top officials will be retiring soon.
There have been changes in top brass like the Executive Director (Headquarter), S Mukherji, retired on Aug 31 and another Executive Director (East), Senthil Kumar, quit in Jul 2009 after being transferred to Kerala.
Air India Express Head, P P Singh, whose contract ended in Aug, has been given another extension for a month, while Executive Director (Personnel) V A Ferreira is retiring on Sep 30.
"A reshuffle of directors is likely to take place shortly in view of these developments," Air India sources said.
While Executive Director (Co-ordination), Anita Mitroo is being seen as the successor to Ferreira, while a successor of Captain Singh is yet to be decided.
Informing that the heads of Customer and Ground Handling Services, Integration and Western Region may also be replaced as part of the exercise, the sources added, "Although there is some hectic lobbying from some quarters to either grant extension or take on contract some of the officials post-retirement, the Air India management appears to be against extension or filling up the post with retired officials."
