Bangalore, Sep 1: Indian Dental Association (IDA) announced the World Dental Show 2009 (WDS), which would be held from Friday, Oct 9 to Sunday, Oct 11 in Mumbai.
The theme for WDS 2009, held in collaboration with University of California, San Francisco(UCSF), is 'The Future of Dentistry is here to stay'. A comprehensive range of state-of-the-art products, services and innovative technologies would be showcased.
WDS is promoted by Indian Trade Promotion Organisation, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of External Affairs.
Over 20,000 members of the dental fraternity, 280 dental associations are expected and nearly 500 stalls have already been booked.
"To host the World Dental Show 2009 in itself is a recognition as well as appreciation of the pioneering work that the organizer, i.e., IDA, has done in promoting oral health in the country." said Dr Ashok Dhoble, Hon Secretary General, IDA.
“However, our initiatives in the realm of oral health will continue through the WDS that we plan to organize on a continuing basis".
A certification scientific programme on Continuing Dental Education jointly with the UCSF would also be conducted.
