B'lore: Hindus & Muslims offer prayers together

Bangalore, Sep 1: Bangalore witnessed a historic moment when Hindus and Muslims came together to participate in a Sri Ganesha Festival Idol Procession on Monday, Aug 31.

When the procession reached the Muslim Dharga, the Muslims who were offering prayers in the Dharga reportedly came out and joined the Hindus in the Sri Ganesh pooja.

Organised by Sri Vinayaka Seva Samithi, the procession which was held in the Jayanagar locality made place for a heart-warming and historic event.

It specially draws its significance from the fact that this took place near the near Jayanagar 4th block bus terminus which has seen a large share of communal clashes in the past.

The ceremony also saw the presence of dignitaries such as the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Bangalore South, the Circle Inspector of Jayanagar Police Station, N Keshava Kumar; Secretary, Federation of Residents Welfare Association Prabhakar; President Umesh; Tresurer of Sri.Vinayaka Seva Samithi Smt.Sathyavathi; Vice President of Jayanagar residents Welfare Association; Mr Chethan K, General Secretary, NSUI, Bangalore.
