London, Aug 31 (ANI): Police fear three more girls who lived just a few miles from 'American Fritzl' Phillip Garrido's home may have been his victims.
Michaela Garecht, nine, Ilene Misheloff, 13, and four-year-old Amanda Campbell were all snatched from the street in daylight and their bodies have never been found.
A senior officer in the El Dorado Sheriff's Department confirmed the girls' abductions in the San Francisco Bay area were identical to Jaycee Lee Dugard's kidnap.
Garrido kept Dugard as his sex slave for 18 years and fathered two children with her.
Michaela went missing three months after Garrido, 58, was freed from jail after serving 10 years of a rape sentence in August 1988.
Two months later Ilene was abducted while walking home from school in the Dublin area, 25 miles from Garrido's home.
Six months after Jaycee's kidnap Amanda was snatched in Fairfield, 40 miles away, while cycling to a friend's house and her bike was found dumped in a field.
"Within months of Garrido's release on parole a girl is abducted and then two more follow in quick succession. These cases have never been solved," the Sun quoted the cop as saying.
"Now look at the fact that you have a convicted rapist accused of child abduction and child rape who lives in the middle of a triangle from where three children vanished. There is a definite pattern.
"The question we have to ask is, 'Was Garrido the beast responsible for taking these three girls?'
"There is about an acre of land out the back of his house. Much of that is covered by rusting cars, junk, outhouses and tents. If he brought one girl to his home, who is to say he did not bring more? No stone can be left unturned," the cop added. (ANI)
