London, Aug 23(ANI): Stephen Daldry, an English theatre and film director who brought ballet to the screen and the stage in Billy Elliot, may be choreographing the opening and closing ceremonies for the 2012 London Olympics.
Daldry's name has been suggested to The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) after being proposed eminent personalities in the arts world.
It would be a cig challenge for the 48-year-old, as numerous Olympics games and ceremonies of such grandeur are also remembered for their opening and closing ceremonies.
Another challenge for the London ceremonies would be to compete with last year's extravagant and spectacular events that were hosted at the bird's nest stadium in Beijing.
The Beijing show cost an estimated 100 million dollars and was choreographed by Chinese film director Zhang Yimou.
If given the opportunity Daldry would have to go one step further, with half the budget that China had for its ceremonies. (ANI)
