Islamabad, Aug.22 (ANI): Former Pakistan batsman Javed Miandad has said he would not only impart batting tips to the team, but would also advise players on other aspects of the game as part of an overall strategy for the next month's Champions Trophy.
"Not just batting but I will be available for coaching tips in other departments such as bowling, fielding etc. Besides helping to devise strategy for victory in the Champions Trophy," Miandad said.
When asked that whether he would be going with the team to South Africa, Butt said: "It doesn't matter whether I will go or not. I will be available for help in preparing the team and I will utilize my best abilities towards this end."
Miandad was appointed as batting advisor for the national team following the top order's dismal show in the Sri Lanka series.
Meanwhile, former chief selector Abdul Qadir has criticised the PCB selection committee for dropping all-rounder Abdul Razzaq and opener Salman Butt for the Champions Trophy.
"Champions Trophy is an important event and experience of these players would have proved beneficial for the team.I am disappointed that Razzaq had been dropped after making good his comeback to the Pakistan team," The Nation quoted Qadir, as saying. (ANI)
