H1N1 claims 10 lives in a day; toll mounts to 44
Bangalore, Aug 21: India on Thursday, Aug 20 set a new Swine flu record for itself by reporting ten H1N1 deaths, accounting for the highest number of deaths the country has seen in a single day.
Bangalore reported four new Swine flu deaths taking the total death toll reported from the city up to 11. Bangalore now stand only second to Pune which has reported 16 Swine flu deaths.

Pune's 16th victim was 27-year-old woman Dipti Pawar who died at the Sassoon hospital on Thursday, Aug 20.
Mumbai reported its fourth Swine flu death taking Maharashtra's death toll to 22. 35-year-old Dattatraya Gawde died at a civic hospital in Mumbai on Thursday, Aug 20.
The country's Swine flu death toll now stands at 44.
