Shimla, Aug 20: Bharatiya Janata Party's chief election manager, Arun Jaitley on Thursday, Aug 20, clarifying Bharatiya Janata Party's stand over Jaswant's expulsion, said that no leader in the party could speak or write against its ideology.

Addressing a press conference after the BJP"s second day 'Chintan baithak', Jaitley said, "Party's disciplinary action is the power of president and Parliamentary board and Jaswant Singh's expulsion was a decision of the board and that it was on their agenda."

When asked why the party is against the book of Jaswant Singh, Jaitley said, "The issue is what you say or write. No party will give right to any member as a frontline member, to go against party core ideology in his writings and discuss this in public. If the content of writing goes against party ideology, it naturally becomes a topic of discussion."

He also said, "If you want to write something totally contrary to the party ideology, you must stand outside the party and do it, not as a frontline member. The Parliamentary Board was well within its rights, as has been done by a number of parties in the past."
