London, Aug 18(ANI): Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka has said that he and Didier Drogba can become Europe's most fearsome forwards.
Chelsea got off to a winning start to the Premier League after beating Hull 2-1 on Saturday, where Drogba scored both goals.
"I really mean what I say. If we consistently play together, we can become the most feared strike partnership in Europe - and that includes the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona," The Sun quoted Anelka, as saying.
"There are some great strikers in world football at the moment, like Fernando Torres and David Villa. But, when you really need a goal, there is no better man to look to than Didier," he added.
The 30-year-old, who top-scored the League with 19 goals in 2008-2009 season, was all praise for Drogba.
"He never gives up and his attitude for the team is fantastic.
For me, he is the most complete striker in the world," he added.
Anelka also slammed critics and said all that matters for them at the moment is that the title comes back to Chelsea.
"Yes, we had our critics who said we couldn't play well together, but we have shown them just how rubbish their words were," Anelka said.
"I'd love to win the Golden Boot again but, if it is Didier who wins it, then I really won't mind," he added. (ANI)
