H1N1 deaths in B'lore & Chattisgarh; toll up to 26

Bangalore/ Raipur, Aug 15: The Swine flu death toll continues to mount as Karnataka and Chhattisgarh each report a Swine Flu death. With these two deaths, the Swine Flu death toll in the country rises to 26.

The latest victim of the H1N1 virus from Bangalore identified as Shivanna was admitted to the hospital on Thursday, Aug 13. His throat swabs were sent to NIMHANS for tests, but he succumbed to the virus even before the test results came out.

This is the second death reported from Bangalore. On Aug 12, Rupa, a school teacher died of Swine flu at the St Philomena Hospital. There are 11 more confirmed cases of Swine Flu in the state.

After a 18 year old Sitaram Varma died in Raipur, yet another swine flu death was reported from Chhattisgarh. A 40-year-old CRPF constable succumbed in Bilaspur on Friday, Aug 14 night.
