Hyderabad, Aug 14: Relatively unsung heroes of Indian badminton, V Diju and Jwala Gutta have now claimed their space in the quarter finals of the World Badminton Championship after thrashing their opponents with a 21-11, 22-20 win.
The pair dished out a 30 minute long fight to Poland"s world number 12 pair of Robert Mateusiak and Nadiezda Kostiuczyk. While the left-handed Jwala controlled the game at the net to compliment Viju's handling.
After moving straight to the the pre-quarters due to England team's withdrawal from the event, the pair proved their might to the huge gathering at the Gachibowli stadium with an excellent game.
"We were beaten by the same pair in the Sudirman Cup four years ago. But now, things are different," said triumphant Jwala after the match.
