Washington, August 13 (ANI): Anti-Obama merchandise has hit the US market as the President's economic and health care policies continue to draw frowns.
Popular slogans were apparently being rephrased amid growing doubt over the policies.
These include "Mama for Obama" being replaced with "To the Mama for Obama -- thanks for the tax hike", "Yes, we can" becoming "No, he can't", "The Audacity of Hype" retooled to the title of Obama's popular book, "The Audacity of Hope".
"It really started peaking about a month ago," Fox News quoted Amy Maniatis, from the online seller Cafepress.com, as telling The Washington Times.
"You see it as a direct response to some of the promising messages that happened a year ago. Whereas we had the campaign of Obama centered around hope, and it was a very optimistic message, now they're asking: 'How's that hopey-changey thing going?'" she added.
The vice president of marketing also said that pro-Obama merchandise was still selling well, adding, "but now we're seeing a much larger swing toward the critical designs." (ANI)
