Chandigarh, Aug 12 (ANI): Working with acrylic on canvas and paper with water Chandigarh-based Vinod Mehta can paint at an astonishingly fast speed - and produces a painting in just 45 seconds.
He can actually produce remarkable paintings in a jiffy that have nature, religion and even moral issues as their theme. We call him 'the achiever'.
"I have made my paintings in 45 seconds in front of an audience or in front of media. All of these paintings convey messages. They are all based on some ideas that come to my mind instantly. Nothing is pre-planned, Mehta said.
A common man is not concerned about progress in the fields of science and technology until his basic needs are met. After that, development comes. For example - if the prices of cars were reduced, only those who are capable of buying a car will benefit but those who have not even seen a car, they would not be concerned with the reduction of car prices. In my paintings I have tried to showcase the aspirations of a common man. The black colour depicts the disappointment of a common man because his needs have not been fulfilled," he added.
"As of now I have showcased 10 percent of my work through my paintings. I am satisfied with my teaching job as I have taught painting to over 5,500 students, who have come from across India and even abroad," he said.
"My artwork is admired all over the world. An artist should work to raise social issues concerning the society. An artist can be a social reformer because the masses follow his ideas. The medium of art should be used to free the society from existing social evils," he added. (ANI)
