London, August 10 (ANI): Princess Beatrice of York reportedly celebrated her 21st birthday at a friend's house in Spain after the Queen was said to have endorsed "recession restraint".
The elder daughter of Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and Sarah, Duchess of York, was allegedly happy to mark the occasion without a big bash.
"Bea was aware of how a big party would look in the current climate," the Telegraph quoted one of her close friends as saying.
"To be honest, her memories of her 18th party are somewhat clouded by the dress that she agreed to wear. She is very embarrassed by it. She is perfectly happy to celebrate her big day with friends and family in Sotogrande," the friend added.
A senior courtier apparently said: "Her Majesty has made clear that there should be no ostentation. Prince Andrew has been made very much aware of this." (ANI)
