Delhi: Call Centre employee raped by team leader

New Delhi, Aug 10: A call centre employee was allegedly sedated and raped by her team leader on Friday, Aug 7 night in New Delhi.

The 27-year-old employees of BPO 'Salient' who registered a case against her team leader Prashant Rana says that she was raped after being given a drink laced with sedatives, the police said.

When the victim who lives in Paschim Vihar, west Delhi was dropped by the company cab near her home, Rana also got down there. After taking the drink that Rana offered her, she reportedly lost consciousness.

When she woke up on Saturday, Aug 8 morning she was in an unknown house and found out that she was raped. The girl who went to the police in the night was subjected to medical examination.

A senior police said that the test has confirmed rape and that the 28-year old accused has been arrested.

Since the girl is 'not in a mental state to give specific answers', the sequence of events that led to the incident is not clear, the police said.
