Vadodara, Aug 7: Just weeks after Tata Nano hit the roads, it has hit what could possibly be a business and a moral roadblock too. A woman has reportedly decided to cancel her booking as her car was not delivered on time.

"I have written to the Tata Motors to cancel my booking," the 96-year-old woman was quoted as saying in a news agency report.

The woman who is a photojournalist was disappointed when she learnt that about 16 cars have already been delivered in the city but her name was missing from that list.

"I had booked this car after the company wrote to me on April 9, and had deposited an amount of Rs 95,000 for its registration in my name after they assured the delivery within two months," Homi Vyarawalla said.

Hurt that her car has not yet been delivered, the woman says, "I do not know how long I will live. I find it difficult to do anything without a car. It is not a luxury but a necessity for me."

When contacted the local Tata Motors dealer reportedly said that he was unaware of the promise made to her.
