Sohail Tanvir's county stint with Surrey falls through

By Super Admin

London, Aug.7 (ANI): Pakistani left arm bowler Sohail Tanvir will not be playing for Surrey this season.

It was widely reported that Tanvir who has represented Pakistan on 46 occasions mainly in the shorter versions of the game was due to sign for the London based County, who have been represented in the past by Pakistani cricketers such as Waqar Younis, Saqlain Mushtaq, Abdul Razzaq and Shoaib Akhtar.

But according to PakPassion.net, the deal has fallen through due to problems with Tanvir not being able to get the required Visa.

It quoted Sohail as saying: "I'm very disappointed as the opportunity at Surrey would have been a great chance to further develop my game and to get some match practice ahead of the Champions Trophy trial matches".

It's a major blow for Tanvir who has been a huge success in Twenty/20 cricket, especially for the Rajasthan Royals.

The stint with Surrey would have presented Tanvir with the perfect opportunity to once again catch the eye of the Pakistani selectors. (ANI)
