Washington, Aug 7: Three police officers and a dispatcher of the Grand Prairie Police Department have been reportedly suspended for forwarding 'racist' emails about the President Barack Obama from work computers.
While Officers Tommy Hendrick, Mark Calvert and Michael Diaz have been suspended without pay for 21 days, dispatcher Debra Willis was suspended without pay for 28 days.
The row started when the offensive mails were sent to the police headquarters some time back. One of e-mails contained the a photograph of Air Force One with a racial slur printed on the tail of the plane along with a racially insensitive joke.
The other e-mail contained the following line, "Everyone just relax. When was the last time you heard of a black guy keeping a job for 4 years?"
"The City of Grand Prairie does not tolerate discrimination. The e-mails should have been deleted," said Grand Prairie spokesperson Amy Sprinkles.
