Di's wedding dress' price reduced to £15,500 for quick sale amid recession
London, Aug 3 (ANI): The ongoing credit crunch has now taken a toll on the sale of Princess Diana memorabilia.
Snippets of Diana's wedding dress are being advertised on eBay under the banner "Seriously reduced for quick sale!" with a "buy it now" price of 15,500 pounds.
The collage of fabric is being auctioned by Gavin Young on behalf of his parents Pam and Doug, who were given the item by dress designers Elizabeth and David Emanuel as a "thank you" for looking after their children in the run-up to the Royal Wedding in 1981.
The pieces of dress come with a personal letter from Elizabeth Emanuel.
Diana's original dress is on display at her childhood home, Althorp.
Young had earlier put them on eBay in 2005, a deal that bizarrely included his terraced house in Swindon.
However, Gavin says this was "more to make people aware" of the memorabilia.
"If I put it on display I have to be with it 24/7," the Daily Express quoted Gavin as saying.
"My parents tried to get it insured years ago but no one would . That's why it is in a bank vault," he added. (ANI)
