London, Aug 2(ANI): Manchester United officials would meet their Valencia couterparts before Wednesday's prestige friendly at Old Trafford to have a possible deal for mid-fielder David Villa.
Though Man U manager Sir Alex Ferguson had claimed that United would not make any further signings, they are prepared to deal at the right price, the News of the World reported.
According to reports, the Red Devils would have to pay 25 million pounds to land the Spainish midfielder.
The 23 year-old who has been used in a deep-lying role behind the main striker at Valencia, is expected to play in a number of midfield positions at Old Trafford.
Ferguson had regularly maintained during Man U's pre-season tour of Asia that they were finished with their transfer business for the summer, but he believes that Silva could help the team in scoring some more goals during the season.
Meanwhile, Man U also has Silva's Valencia team-mate David Villa on the radar, but the striker has upheld that he wants to remain with Valencia. (ANI)
