Bangalore, Aug 1: Infosys Technologies (Infosys) has availed the security cover facilitated by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) for its vast complex located in Bangalore.
A formal function to herald this service was held at the Infosys campus here on Friday, Jul 31.
The programme included the hoisting of the CISF flag by N R Narayana Murthy, founder and Chairman-Emeritus of Infosys followed by the ceremonial guard of honour presented by the CISF personnel.
Murthy described Infosys as a national asset and said it is important to safeguard it.
"We have seen 26/11 when Taj Hotel was attacked, Victoria Terminus was attacked and lots of our people died. In that context it is extremely important that we all work together to keep safe all these national assets which will continue to create employment for our people," he added.
R K Mishra, Inspector General, CISF said that providing security cover to Infosys as a unique opportunity for the force. "No doubt, this opportunity is unique. But at the same time the task is daunting. But we are confident that CISF will pass this litmus test also with highest grade," he added.
This marks a historic event as Infosys becomes the first corporate organisation in private sector to be provided security cover by this elite security force.
The security cover will be rolled out in three phases.
