London, July 31(ANI): Formula One (F1) champion Lewis Hamilton has expressed delight at the return of seven-time champion Michael Schumacher, saying that it will be an honour and a privilege to go wheel to wheel with his hero.
Schumacher would replace injured Brazilian driver Felipe Massa at Ferrari if he passes a fitness test
"I am excited by the possibility of Michael's return. He is one of the sport's greatest competitors, a legend in his own right and it will be great to compete against him," The Daily Express quoted Hamilton, as saying.
The 40 year-old German had retired in 2006, a month before Hamilton signed his first F1 contract.
Meanwhile, it is believed that Schumacher would return to the track on August 23 for the Grand Prix of Europe in Valencia
"The whole world will be watching his return to the cockpit in Valencia. It will not only be fascinating to see how he readies himself for his grand prix comeback, but also an honour and a privilege to race against him for the very first time. I wish him well," Hamilton said. (ANI)
