Buta Singh's son held on bribery charge
New Delhi, Jul 31: National Commission on Scheduled Castes Chairman and former union minister Buta Singh's son Sarbjot Singh has been detained by the Central Bureau of Investigation for allegedly taking bribe from a Nashik-based builder.
Sarbjot Singh was arrested by the Anti Corruption Branch of the CBI on Thursday, Jul 30 and taken to Mumbai office to investigate.
He was arrested for allegedly accepting bribe of Rs 1 crore from a Nashik-based builder to get his name cleared from cases filed against him allegedly on Buta Singh's orders.
The arrested came after Rama Rao Patil, the builder had approached the CBI in Mumbai alleging that Sarbjot had sought Rs 1 crore from him.
