New Delhi, Jul 30: Supreme Court of India on Thursday, Jul 30 allowed the construction of the Commonwealth Games (CWG) Village on Yamuna river.
Bench comprising of Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan, P Sathasivam and B S Chauhan ruled out the Delhi High Court order that had put various restrictions on the construction activities citing environmental hazards.

Activists and ecologists are against the construction of the Village, alleging that the consequences to the Yamuna river will be disastrous once it is constructed.
