Islamabad, July 30 (ANI): The legal team put up by former Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf has claimed that it has not received any notice from the Supreme Court challenging the legality of the former general's decision to impose emergency in the country on November 3, 2007.

A prominent member of the legal team, Fawad Chaudhry said that counsels are 'totally in the dark' about the issue as they are still to receive the notice issued by the apex court.

Chaudhry said it was inappropriate to appear before the court without actually knowing the real issue.

"Unless we receive the notice and come to know about the issue for which Musharraf has been asked to explain his position, we will not be in a position to say anything in the court. Till then, there is no point in appearing before the court," The News quoted Chaudhry, as saying.

"First, we should know the subject matter on which we are to speak in the Supreme Court. This would be possible only after we receive the notice," he added.

Chaudhry rejected reports about Malik Qayyum abandoning Musharraf saying he (Qayyum) was in close touch with the former President on legal issues.

He said that if need arose, Musharraf will defend his actions in the apex court through his legal team. (ANI)
