India: Inflation falls marginally, at -1.54 pc
New Delhi, Jul 30: Continuing in the negative zone for the seventh consecutive week, the Indian inflation rate for the week ending Jul 18 stands at -1.54 per cent.
According to the official data released on Thursday, Jul 30, the inflation rate fell marginally from the previous week's -1.17 per cent. The Wholesale Price Index (WPI) first turned negative for the week ended Jun 6, after the negative series in the seventies.
While the price index for primary articles rose 0.3 per cent to 261.1(provisional), the price index for the manufactured products declined 0.1 per cent. The price index for fuel and power declined 0.1 percent to 338.2 (provisional).
The revised inflation rate for the week ended May 23 stood at 1.34 per cent.
