Islamabad, Jul 28: Interior Minister of Pakistan on Tuesday, Jul 28 said that 26/11 mastermind and Jammat-ud-Dawah (JuD) supremo Hafiz Saeed will not be arrested.
Speaking to Pakistan's Geo TV, Interior Minister, Rehman Malik contented that Saeed's link to the Mumbai terror attack has not been proven yet. Instead, he blamed India saying New Delhi must furnish details of Indian citizens allegedly involved in the Mumbai attacks.
He said, "If New Delhi wanted some credible action, they need to provide substantiated evidence," the minister said, adding Saeed could not be arrested on the basis of mere statements.
The statements came just days after India and Pakistan endorsed a joint statement in which New Delhi agreed to de-link Composite Dialogue from Islamabad"s action against terror, on the pretext that Pakistan was beginning to get serious with the Mumbai terror attack trial.
