Pak batsmen faulty technique behind poor show in Lanka: Ramiz

By Super Admin

Lahore, July 27 (ANI): Former captain Ramiz Raja has said that Pakistan team's lack of Test match exposure, faulty technique of the batsmen led to their drubbing in Sri Lanka.

With nearly all the visiting teams shunning Pakistan on security grounds, the team hardly played Test matches over the last couple of years, he said.

Ramiz felt the flawed technique of their batsmen also played its part in the debacle.

"The technique of some of our players is suspect. They just don't know how to tackle good pace bowling, especially if the ball is swinging in. Similarly, they are fallible to good left-arm spin bowling, specially the armer," the former opener said.

Noting that most of the Pakistan batsmen played outside the line, he said, "These technical issues mean that when the pressure is on the batting crumbles badly."

The Daily Times quoted Ramiz as saying that young openers Fawad Alam and Khurrum Manzoor had scored some runs in Sri Lanka, even they needed to improve their technique a lot to make a permanent place for themselves in the national team. (ANI)
