Chandigarh, July 27 (ANI): A well-known religious singer in Chandigarh is helping destitute girls by solemnising their marriages.
He is none other than Bhai Balwinder Singh Rangila, who has solemnized mass marriages of 400 destitute girls.
"I feel very happy when somebody comes to me with sorrow and pain in his/her heart, but goes back happy. Turning the tears into happiness gives great satisfaction. We have solemnized mass marriages of over 400 destitute girls," he said.
Besides solemnizing marriage, he is also imparting religious education to more than 2,000 students free of cost.
For this, he is running a Gurmat Sangeet Academy in Chandigarh. This Academy provides training in kirtan, classical music, tabla, harmonium and lessons of Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
"We provide training in kirtan, classical music, tabla, and lessons of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, which begin from Ek Onkar and go on till the end of Gurbani so that the kids who are learning kirtan will know its real meaning," he said.
"This will help bring them closer to religion. We teach the whole Guru Granth Sahab here and don't charge any money for that," he added.
According to him, the young generation should involve in the worship of god because by doing this they will take to social welfare.
"We think that instead of taking the kids to perform on stage, we should involve them in the worship of god. If our young generation is good and educated, they will be able to contribute to the progress of the country. So through the teaching of Gurbani, we try to make their life better," he said. (ANI)
