New Delhi, Jul 26: The Congress Party on Monday, Jul 27 has finally decided to come out and support Prime Minister Manmonhan Singh on the controversial issue on Indo-Pak joint statement in Egypt.

AICC general secretary Janardhan Dwivedi said, "The Congress is confident that when the Prime Minister speaks in Parliament on Jul 29, he will set at rest all the questions, all apprehensions and speculation relating to the Indo-Pak joint statement at Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt."

These statements came after a crucial meeting of the Congress Core Group which was held on Friday, Jul 24 among Singh, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and other leaders on the issue of joint statement.

Singh said his government had all the 'relevant answers' to the questions raised on the joint statement. He said he would spell out the answers in Parliament on Wednesday, Jul 29.

He also dismissed the reported difference of opinion between the government and Congress on the issue as 'media creation'. "I have made a statement in parliament and it is again going to discuss the issue. I will clarify," Singh told reporters when asked about the controversy.
