20 goats sacrificed to mark Zardari's birthday
Karachi, July 27 (ANI): Twenty goats were sacrificed by Bilawal House Spokesman Ejaz Durrani and Akram Baloch to mark the 54th birthday of Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari.
The participants at the Bilawal House ceremony on Sunday prayed for a long life for Zardari and for the departed soul of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.
Senior PPP leaders Ghulam Qadir Solangi, Tariq Khan, Saeed, Mushtaq Kalota, Ameer Khan Chandio, M Umar, Javed Nagori, Amir Shahnishahi, Ibrahim Shaikh, Noor Jehan Baloch, Khaliq Jam and others were also present on the occasion.
Lunger (free food) arranged by Zardari was also distributed among poor people including children at religious seminaries and orphan houses in the city, The Nation reported.
Leaders of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Punjab celebrated the birthday of Zardari at the party office on Sunday.
The leaders celebrated the birthday without cutting a cake and instead organised a debate on "tolerance in politics".
PPP Punjab President Rana Aftab said the PPP was acting upon the policy of reconciliation and tolerance and other political parties should also respond in the same manner.
He said the role of political forces in backing violent protests over power outages was not a positive thing. He said the PPP believed in political reconciliation and expected the same in response. (ANI)
