Langer ready to play third Ashes Test for "nothing"

By Super Admin

Sydney, July 25 (ANI): Former Australian Test opener Justin Langer has expressed his desire to play for the national team once again, saying he is ready to comeback from retirement to play in the third Ashes Test.

Langer, who recently broke Don Bradman's record of scoring most first-class runs, said he is ready to play the third Ashes Test against Australia "for nothing".

"One of the boys in the Somerset changing room asked me 'if they asked you to play tomorrow, how much it would take?' and I said I would play the third Test for Australia next week for nothing," Langer said.

The veteran of 105 Tests said he missed excitement surrounding the Ashes.

"When you have played that much, you miss the big Tests. I miss the hype of the Ashes series. I also miss the challenge of playing against Andrew Flintoff. That is what it is all about. That is the great test for batsmen. I really miss Test cricket," The News quoted Langer, as saying.

Langer had bid adieu to Test cricket following England's 5-0 drubbing in the 2006-07 Ashes series. (ANI)
