New Delhi: 2 killed in blaze at ministry building
New Delhi, Jul 24: At least two people were killed and three others injured when a major fire broke out at a multi storeyed building, Anusandhan Bhavan near Parliament in New Delhi on Thursday, Jul 23.
The blaze was reported from the third floor of Anusandhan Bhavan at 07:06 PM when senior Ministry officials were present in the building
The officials rushed out of the building as soon as the fire alarm rang and the fire brigade rushed to the spot.
Though the fire was doused withing two hours, four persons were trapped on the fourth floor of the building and rescued after three hours.
A senior police officials said, "Out of the persons rescued, two were brought dead at hospital." He also said, "These people were on the third floor when the fire broke out. In a bid a escape, they ran to the fourth floor where they got trapped."
