Jolie visits Iraq refugees, seeks more aid
Baghdad, Jul 24: It has just been over a month since her big 1,000,000 dollar donation to Pakistan war refugees; UN goodwill ambassador, Angelina Jolie visited a refugee camp in Baghdad for those displaced by the war on Thursday, Jul 23.
According to the US refugee agency, the Hollywood actress called for more aid for Iraq's internally-displaced people.
She said that she was hoping that the Iraqi government and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) will provide the refugees with new accommodation.
"This is a moment where things seem to be improving on the ground, but Iraqis need a lot of support and help to rebuild their lives," Jolie said during her one day visit to Chikouk camp in northern Baghdad's Kadhimiyah.
Jolie said that the situation there was rough but things are improving. She pointed out that Iraqis will need a lot more help and support to rebuild their lives.
