Man creates false bomb scare in Indigo flight

New Delhi, Jul 23: A passenger on Thursday, Jul 23 created panic on board when he falsely claimed that there was a bomb in the IndiGO flight

A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) official said that the passenger identified as Sanjay Malik created a scare around 11: 45 am when the flight 6E 181 was on its final approach from Delhi to Mumbai airport and asked the crew to divert the plane to Pakistan.

The captain of the IndiGO aircraft immediately alerted the air traffic control. CISF, a paramilitary force that guards airports and important industrial installation across the country gave a quick response and was deployed at the airport.

The CISF team checked the aircraft at around 11: 45 am but could not find any bomb. The CISF detained the passenger and later handed him over to Mumbai police who were in the process of questioning him. The CISF official said the passenger seemed mentally disturbed.
