Malay Indian leader for deploying Indians in every district dept
Kuala Lumpur, July 21 (ANI): Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) National Youth council member S.P. Muthu Veloo has urged the Government to ensure there is at least one Indian in every department at district level to handle problems faced by the Indian community.
The Star and the Tamil Nesan quoted Veloo as saying that it would be easier for Indian officers to understand the community's problems and give the right advice.
He suggested that Indian officers should be appointed at national registration departments, Socso offices, welfare departments and district education offices.
He said many Indians were hesitant in going to government offices because they get confused after meeting government officers.
It also reported that MIC branch leaders had been urged to identify problems faced by people in their area and take the necessary actions to solve them. (ANI)
